Kalligrafie workshop - 13/06/26
Learn the basics of Japanese calligraphy, shūji習字.
Shuji refers to beautiful writing in general. Students in school are taught correct posture and brush grip; these are the foundation for creating strong, expressive strokes of both kanji and kana .
Under the guidance of Japanologist Owen Tjon Sie Fat, you will learn how working with fude (brush) and hanshi (rice paper) leads to the characteristic aesthetic rules of Japanese calligraphy. You will gain extensive background information on calligraphy and the language, and you will learn to write characters ( shūji) yourself.
This course is ideal for beginners with no prior knowledge of the language. Of course, everyone is welcome.
The necessary materials will be provided, and you'll go home with your own artwork.
